Letting go has always proved an issue whether it be with physical items or thoughts. The emotionally challenging decision was taken to release treasured children's garments to charity, but retain a few 'special items' for re-purposing. It is hoped that to release whilst also retaining will breathe new life and light into something which can be enjoyed for years to come.

The pieces depict local Norfolk landscapes which have special personal significance. Each deeply personal piece incorporates several different garments within them, the origination of these fabrics can be found on the link of each enlarged work. The applique quilted works incorporate both machine and hand stitching within them.

These works also tackle the subject of textile waste. By recycling or reusing old fabrics to create other garments or artworks the amount of waste being sent to landfill could be reduced.
